On Thursday, 24.07.2014, after one year of preparation, the day finally came: the BI Congress attracted 300 visitors to the Leonardo Royal Munich. The Congress impressed with first class best practices and a remarkable provider exhibition. It was a great success and will therefore take place again.
The BI Congress is a high-caliber presentation and networking event with an exciting program on current trends in the areas of business intelligence, data warehousing as well as CRM and e-commerce. The speakers are decision-makers in internationally operating businesses.
Enriching exchange on the BI Kongress
The presentations are noteworthy in particular because they address best practices - ideas and concepts which have a successful practical track record. It is above all these best practices from which other businesses may benefit and learn. For example, Hybris put up for discussion the question of how omni-channel commerce poses new challenges for business intelligence. Office World explained how businesses may develop into cross-channel businesses. Travian showed how to efficiently and effectively link up free-to-play gamers in over 40 countries. The TV to web analysis of spoteffects, however, also received a lot of attention. In addition, e.dialog, babyartikel.de, Telefónica, Maxdome, sunrise, E.ON and OTTO also presented how business intelligence solutions are currently implemented. The BI Congress was exciting as a great variety of industries were represented - industries in which BI has been firmly rooted for many years, but also industries where the topic of BI has only recently been noted. For this reason, the exchange was particularly enriching. Further, interesting discussions were held at the exhibition with eleven of our partner companies: Apteco, arcplan, Aspect, Datameer, Data Virtuality, Information Builders, MicroStrategy, Oracle, Pitney Bowes, SAS and spoteffects.
Keynote speech by blogger and author Sascha Lobo
Subsequently, Sascha Lobo led from the Congress to the evening event: with his keynote, he put business intelligence into the social and ethical framework in line with the title "What one should know about the Internet - how Big Data and Business Intelligence change Society". The inspiring thoughts of Lobos' were discussed afterwards. The networking celebration on the occasion of b.telligent's 10th anniversary was also used for networking and getting to know each other. The relaxed atmosphere offered some surprises: in addition to the barbecue and cocktails, a band and fire artists provided entertainment. The feedback of the participants and exhibitors was just as positive. The managing partners Klaus Blaschek and Sebastian Amtage were evidently satisfied because guests, partners and exhibitors were so happy. This feedback convinced b.telligent to organize the BI Congress again in 2016. The guests could vote: the result was close - the next Congress will again take place in Munich. Our goal continues to be the sophisticated exchange of ideas between the various industries and partners. b.telligent is already looking forward to welcoming you to the BI Congress 2016.
