Market leaders in the retail sector exchange ideas on business intelligence across all industries
Munich, 20.08.2014: On 24 July 2014, the b.telligent BI Congress took place for the first time. Market leaders from various retail industries met in order to inform themselves about current trends in the areas of business intelligence, CRM and e-commerce. The presentations on cross-industry best practice examples were supplemented by the interesting exhibition of well-known solution providers. The blogger and Spiegel columnist Sascha Lobo initiated a lively discussion on the social and ethical importance of data use in times of social networks and big data. In the course of the subsequent evening event, the intensive discussion was continued, the contact network was expanded and b.telligent's 10th anniversary was celebrated.
Current Ideas and Tried and Tested Concepts
The BI congress is a top-class presentation and networking event with an exciting programme on current trends from the areas of business intelligence, data warehousing, as well as CRM and e-commerce. The speakers are decision-makers from internationally operating businesses.
Hybris discussed new challenges and chances in omni-channel commerce posed by business intelligence. Office World demonstrated how businesses can develop into cross-channel businesses. Travian explained how to efficiently and effectively link up free-to-play gamers in 40+ countries. The functioning of tv-to-web analyses was introduced by spoteffects. In addition, e.dialog, babyartikel.de, Telefónica, Maxdome, sunrise, E.ON and OTTO also presented successful implementations of business intelligence solutions.
In addition, the participating businesses had the opportunity to make interesting contacts with the exhibiting solution providers at the provider exhibition: Apteco, arcplan, Aspect, Datameer, Data Virtuality, Information Builders, MicroStrategy, Oracle, Pitney Bowes, SAS and spoteffects were represented.
Keynote by Writer and Blogger Sascha Lobo
Sascha Lobo, Spiegel Online columnist, blogger and writer, led from the congress to the evening event. With his keynote "What one should know about the Internet - how Big Data and Business Intelligence change Society", he placed business intelligence into a social and ethical framework. Lobo's inspiring ideas were further discussed in the course of the subsequent anniversary celebration. The evening event on the occasion of b.telligent's 10th anniversary was also used for further networking. Klaus Blaschek and Sebastian Amtage, b.telligent founders and managing partners, were evidently satisfied with the participants' and exhibitors' positive response. Klaus Blaschek summarizes: "By means of the BI congress, b.telligent offers a specialist conference unique in this form in order to exchange ideas across all industries on the current state of development, how business intelligence is successfully practised with CRM and e-commerce in innovative businesses. The great acceptance and the outstanding feedback of the participants and partners of the first BI congress show that this kind of event has been missing and that we have hit the mark with the format". Due to the positive response, the BI congress will take place again in 2016. The congress participants were invited to vote online at the event, the result was very close: The next congress will again take place in Munich.
